Windows Installation Guide
Install the Dinezo desktop app and get your receipt printer working.
Last updated: 14 August 2026
System requirements
- Windows 10 or later, 64-bit
- Around 200 MB of free disk space
- An internet connection for account sign-in and backups (billing works offline once you're signed in)
1. Download and install
- Download
Dinezo-Setup.msifrom the Downloads page - Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installer
- Follow the setup wizard — the default install location and options work for almost everyone
- Once installed, Dinezo is available from the Start Menu
2. Sign in
Launch Dinezo and sign up or log in with your account. If this is a new account, you'll start your 7-day free trial immediately — see the Getting Started Guide for the full setup flow.
3. Connect a printer
Dinezo supports several ways to print — pick whichever matches your hardware:
USB or serial thermal printer
Connect the printer and power it on. In Dinezo, go to Settings → Printers → Add Printer and select the detected USB/serial port. Choose the correct paper width (58mm or 80mm) so receipts format correctly.
Network (LAN) thermal printer
Connect the printer to the same network as this computer. Add it in Settings → Printers using its IP address (port 9100 is used by default for raw ESC/POS printing).
Bluetooth thermal printer
Pair the printer first in Windows Bluetooth settings, then add it from Settings → Printers in Dinezo and select it from the paired devices list.
Any other printer (Windows spooler)
Regular inkjet, laser, or any printer already installed in Windows can be used through the Windows print spooler — no thermal hardware required. This is the simplest option if you're just getting started.
4. Set your default printer
Once a printer is added, set it as the default for customer receipts and, separately, for kitchen tickets (KOT) — many restaurants use a printer at the counter for receipts and a second one in the kitchen for tickets.
Troubleshooting
Printer not detected
Check the cable and power connection, confirm the printer driver is installed in Windows, and try removing and re-adding it from Settings → Printers.
Receipt text is cut off or misaligned
This almost always means the paper width is set wrong — confirm the printer profile matches your actual paper roll (58mm or 80mm).
App won't launch after installing
Confirm you're on Windows 10 or later (64-bit), then re-run the installer. If the issue persists, contact Support.
Uninstalling
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Dinezo, and select Uninstall. Your account data stays safe on our servers and can be accessed again by reinstalling and signing back in.
